EC Webinar: Lump Sum Funding in Horizon Europe – How does it work/Writing a proposal

    Event: 16-May-24, 9:00 to 11:00 UK time

    [from Liz Fay]

The European Commission will hold a new webinar on lump sum funding for Horizon Europe projects on 16 May.

The webinar will focus on how lump sum funding works and how to write a proposal for a call that uses the lump sum funding model. The agenda will also include a discussion panel with guests presenting their practical experience with lump sum grants. The attendees will be able to post questions via Slido.

No registration is required, joining instructions are available on the event website.

The Funding and Tender Opportunities Portal has a dedicated “Lump sum funding in Horizon Europe” section that brings together all the information on lump sum funding in the programme, FAQs, and events.

The department has successfully navigated this scheme already, so we do have experience in this area.

VeTSS Annual Event, 21st May 2024 at the Royal Academy of Engineering, London

    Event: 21-May-2024, RAEng London

The Research Institute on Verified Trustworthy Software Systems (VeTSS) is an UK Academic Research Institute in Cyber Security. VeTSS is one of four research institutes within the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), bringing together leading academics, industry professionals, regulators and government representatives to ensure research into software stays focused on the safety and security challenges faced by the UK and mitigates the risks posed.

The VeTSS Annual Event [vetss.org.uk] is a one-day meeting with long and short talks, to be held at the Royal Academy of Engineering, London [raeng.org.uk].

The program will be finalised soon [vetss.org.uk],  but confirmed speakers are Peter O’Hearn [cs.ucl.ac.uk] (Lacework and UCL), Jade Alglave [cs.ucl.ac.uk] (Arm and UCL), Elizabeth Polgreen [polgreen.github.io] (University of Edinburgh), Edoardo Manino (University of Manchester), Sophia Drossopolou [wp.doc.ic.ac.uk] (Imperial College London) and Ross Horne [personal.cis.strath.ac.uk] (University of Strathclyde).

Registration, lunch and refreshments are free of charge, but unfortunately we are not able to offer support for the cost of travelling to London.

To register, please email us at contact@vetss.org.uk with your full name and affiliation (as you want them to appear on the badge) and any dietary or access requirements.

The event is open to academic, industry and government researchers with an interest in safety, security, correctness, program analysis, testing, and verification. This is an opportunity to connect with researchers working in VeTSS [vetss.org.uk] adjacent topics, such as AI, Quantum Computing, Security and Machine learning, discuss state-of-the-art research and its open challenges and seek cross-pollination opportunities with VeTSS themes. Attendees are likely to be a mix of senior academics, post docs and PhD students.
