Guardian League Table
The Guardian's Best universities guide is out; see it out:
We're fifth out of 109 CS type Departments, so top 5%. this is very nice, so hurrah for us and our students. The institutions ahead of us in the league table are St. Andrews, Cambridge, Oxford and Imperial, which is, I think, the same as last year.

Approvals
The approvals and procurement process where approval is needed outside the Department will be paused from 5pm on Tuesday 30th March and resume from Monday 12th April. I am still able to approve small purchases,. but do get anything urgent into the queue before 30th March.

Head of School Procurement Approvals over Easter
Hi everyone,
Just to let you know that Head of School Procurement Approvals (items over £200.00) will not be available from Thursday 1st April - Friday 9th April 2021 due to University closure days and planned leave over the Easter period. In order to accommodate this the Head of School will review items on the Procurement spreadsheet as outlined below:
- Procurement requests added on to the spreadsheet by 9am on Wednesday 31st March will be looked at by Head of School and response sent by me/Julia by 5pm the same day.
- Any requests put on the sheet after that time won't be looked at until 9am on Monday 12th April and responses will be sent that day.
- Please note that requests of £5000 or more require additional approval from SLT and may take longer.
Alice is also taking leave the w/c 19th April but I’m hoping that Chris Hardacre will be able to cover that week in her absence. I’ll update you as soon as I know more.
Regards
Sue
